Goodman Extruder
Die-Face Pre-Form Cutters accurately cut compression mold pre-forms
right at the die face of your cold feed or hot feed extruder.
The pre-form can be a solid cross section, an ID-OD section or
any other shape. The extruder die supports the parts as they
are cut to avoid distortion frequently seen in cutting these
shapes away from the extruder. The extruder must be continuously
fed with a uniform width and thickness strip feed from a pallet,
carton or from a warm-up mill. Separate off-line cutting operations
are eliminated. Storage and handling of cut lengths of extrusions
awaiting off-line cutting are eliminated. Freezing ID-OD sections
to prevent collapse when cut is not necessary.
The GOODMAN
Pre-Form Cutter will double your production over a ram type extruder-cutter
requiring manual reloading after every batch. Eliminate the down-time
for recharging the extruder.
The Model 300
and Model 364 cuts cross sections up to 4" (100 mm)OD, if
solid, up to 6" (150 mm) OD, if an ID-OD cross section with
an area no larger than 12 In2
(75 cm2). The Model 600 and
696 cuts cross sections up to 6" (150 mm) OD, if solid,
up to 9" (225 mm) OD, if an ID-OD cross section with an
area no larger than 28 In2
(180 cm2).
The Model 364
and 696 include a spray lubrication system for the cutting blade,
and an integral stainless steel pre-form dip tank with inclined,
cleated, mesh conveyor belt to carry the cut pre-forms up and
out of the dip tank to discharge into a secondary cooling conveyor
or tank. A submerged heat exchanger can be supplied to keep the
dip tank solution chilled. The heat exchanger can be piped to
your chilled water system or to a dedicated chiller.
